June 2013 Newsletter

Belle-Isle-fountainThe last meeting of this season will be held on Monday, June 3, 2013 at St. Paul Lutheran Church (2045 Lynn) in Sanford. It will be our annual potluck. Members are asked to bring a dish to pass that will serve eight along with your own table service. Coffee, tea, and chicken will be provided. Please call me (835-2567) and let me know what you are bringing so that we have a good variety of desserts, vegetables, and salads. I will once again invite the Saginaw Chapter members to join us. This is a social gathering. No program is being provided.

On behalf of those members who attended the May meeting, I would like to thank you and our guest speaker Mr. Tsune Kawakita. Unfortunately, our attendance was not good at all. Counting guests, we had 10 people, 8 of which were members. It is looking more and more like we will have to disband our local chapter and just meet once in a while for a social gathering. This will have to be discussed at the June meeting.

The Saginaw Chapter will have their June meeting on the 6th. It is a potluck that starts at 6 p.m. and will be held at the Anderson Enrichment Center (near the water plant). If you are going to attend please bring a dish to pass that serves eight and your own table service. Meat will be provided by the chapter. International students from Delta and Saginaw Valley State University will be notified and invited to attend.

I received a check from Blue Lakes Charters and Tours in the original amount of $878.00 for the chartered bus trip that was never used. After a number of letters and phone calls they concluded that we as a chapter would not need their services any time soon therefore, it was agreed that the money should be reimbursed. It should help the treasury!!!

Wishing you all a wonderful summer season and looking forward to seeing you at the June potluck.

Deb Teot, President
Midland Chapter of  PTPI
